Discussion/talk
Trans* ways of life and perspectives can’t be described beyond psychological definitions (like “gender identity”). Sometimes these concepts are helpful for discussing gender, identity, sex, change. But they offer little room for Trans* between or beyond the bi-gender-norm. After a short (!) introduction to history and present discussions about psychological trans* concepts, there’s room for discussions about acquisition and boundaries, about expectations, wishes, demands on psychological debate with trans*, to change concepts of treatment and expertise and about ideas and activities to de-pathologize…

For her PHD disertation, Uta Schirmer examined Drag Kinging (not only as theater but as everyday practice) for how it designs and allows different, non strict two gender realities. How within subcultural practices, gender may be experienced and designed differently.

Trans*? Wann sind Ausschlüsse berechtigt? Welche sind transfeindlich?

Lindy Hop is a style of dance, started in the 1930’s in ballrooms of New York, along with big band music. The Lindy Hop fever soon ran through all classes and colours of society. Today, this dance is coming back. Lindy Hop is danced in couples, based on steps not really following a pattern, but instead on what dancers improvised. It’s funny and flirty, similar to Rock’n’Roll, but lower, more down to the floor.
The crash course will take place right before the party, so you’ll be able to try your new steps when the party starts, with the proper music, of course.

Heather Love wrote a book about feeling backward, about feelings of bitterness, selfhatred, passivity, dispair, shame, backdrawing, Nostalgy, Sorrow, Solitude. Heather doesn’t want to get rid of these feelings, at the same time not knowing what those feelings are good for. But she knows that a lot of people know those feelings and that it’s hard to talk about them. Vocabulary is limited, because feelings are indivdualized and doublicated: I’m ashamed for my shame = shame2
